About
Philip Kim

I became a lawyer because I wanted to be an advocate.

Over the course of my career, I’ve been able to channel that energy into a relentless defense practice that represents Georgians facing some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

I believe that one mistake shouldn’t define a person’s future. Through Philip Kim Law, I’m able to make that belief into a reality, and help my clients move forward with their future intact.

Philip Kim:
Lawrenceville, GA Criminal Defense Lawyer

During law school, I got my first taste of criminal defense interning for a public defender’s office in Michigan. I was granted the opportunity to try a case as a student, something that hadn’t happened in years. Through my hard work and the support of my mentors, I was able to get a directed verdict, which meant my client’s charges were completely dropped.

I also had the privilege of attending the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, where I sharpened my trial skills and learned the importance of giving my all to every case.

After graduating, I moved to Georgia and dove headfirst into criminal defense. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in criminal defense in nearly every capacity – as a student lawyer, a paralegal, a public defender, and a private defense attorney.

It was this extensive experience that granted me an in-depth understanding of the Georgia criminal courts, and allowed me to open my own practice defending the rights of clients throughout the state.

“Mr. Kim and his staff were a living example of hope and perseverance. From the moment I reached out to their office, I felt a sense of comfort and confidence. Seeing him walk into the courtroom was like having a knight in shining armor by my side. In that moment, he confidently and fearlessly fought for the dismissal of our case, and we were blessed with the outcome we had hoped for.”

Over a decade of criminal defense experience has taught me exactly what is at stake for my clients. Criminal charges like domestic violence, DUIs, and drug charges can threaten a person’s career, their family life, and even their immigration status.

My approach is built on a bulletproof strategy of radical honesty. I don’t sugarcoat the facts, but I never downplay your options either. I work with my Gwinnett County and Atlanta-area clients to build a defense strategy tailored to their case that will help protect them from life-altering consequences.

I believe everyone deserves a vigorous defense. My goal is to take the burden off your shoulders, protect your future, and set you on the road to success.

Every person deserves someone in their corner who will speak up when it matters most. I take pride in being that person for my clients.

When I’m not fighting tooth and nail for my clients, I can be found on the soccer field, playing with my dogs, or spending time with my family.
